Devil´s Spring

Location Description

The Devil’s Spring System by Santa Fe River in Florida is an amazing cave diving site for scuba divers in the States. Located in the park of Ginnie Springs, near the town of High Springs, it is well known for its extreme visibility and the wide subterranean mazes that make it an extremely rewarding and satisfying place where to dive.
With its water being constantly at 72° F, a little above 22° C, and its amazing visibility, swimming in these spring waters is always a pleasure. The system is home to three main springs that are known as the clearest ones in Florida and count over 1,000 feet of underground caves and passages. The 3 main separate springs are:
• Little Devil: also known as Devils Spring itself, it is an incredible dive with a breathtaking final view from the bottom at 50 feet towards the surface. It generates from a crack in the head of the Devil Spring system and is about 50 feet or 15 meters long.
• Devil’s Eye: This is one of the most famous cave dives not only locally, but worldwide. The 20 feet wide round opening hides a complex system of tunnels and passages at its bottom, which would pose risks for diver’s safety, hence the park strict “No lights” rule: you will only dive where you can see, within your training limits.
• Devil’s Ear: This is the farthest, outmost part of the system, joining the Santa Fe River, with water powerfully flowing at its bottom.
